IMAGES OF INSPIRATION 21 – 25: DEEP DOWN WE HAVE ALWAYS KNOWN THAT WE ARE IN OUR OWN STORY AND ON OUR OWN JOURNEY. BUT THESE ARE THE TIMES, THE NEW TIMES – WHAT SOME HAVE CALLED THE NEW AGE TIMES – IN WHICH WE AT LAST AWAKEN TO THE FACT THAT THE JOURNEY IS A PILGRIMAGE, AND THAT THE PILGRIMAGE IS A SACRED QUEST, A PROFOUND SPIRITUAL ADVENTURE INTO THE VERY HEART AND BEING OF OURSELVES. THE SEARCH FOR THE HOLY GRAIL IS NOT A RARE QUEST GIVEN TO A MERE FEW. IT IS THE INFINITE AND ETERNAL QUEST THAT IS THE BIRTHRIGHT AND THE PURPOSE AND MISSION AND THE ULTIMATE SPIRITUAL MEANING FOR US ALL. AND WE MUST AWAKEN TO THE PROFOUND SPIRITUAL AND SACRED TRUTH THAT THE HOLY GRAIL WE FOREVER SEEK, IS THE SACRED ETERNAL BEAUTIFUL INNER BEING THAT IS OUR TRUE SELVES. THE QUEST IS OURS, AND THE HOLY GRAIL IS US.

The interconnection of text and image: the ONENESS of visual and textual transcendence. They say that we have to travel, that we have to embark upon the adventure ‘out there’, to fully appreciate that place we have come from, to fully appreciate Home. And in a sense that is the purpose of our spiritual and sacred pilgrimage, the purpose of our quest for meaning in our lives, the purpose for our seeking mystical and sacred enlightenment, and spiritual awakening. We must be pilgrims, we have to seek our destiny, our Holy Grail, ‘out there’. And in doing so, we will find ourselves: where we have always been. We are the Holy Grail. What we seek is ourselves. But not the mundane non-spiritual selves we seem to be before we set out, but the sacred, truly spiritual and mystical selves we actually always were and will indeed become, because the quest will make manifest what we always were. The quest, the pilgrimage is vital. But the destination was always us ourselves. But us ourselves made aware of being whole: of being ONE with the ALL.

An intricate chalice glows as it is backlit. Within the chalice is the face of and old, beaded man.

THE QUEST FOR THE GRAIL IS WITHIN, THE HOLY GRAIL IS US BODY MIND AND SPIRIT WHEN ONE, IS OURSELVES MADE WHOLE, OURSELVES MADE COMPLETE. THE QUEST FOR THE GRAIL IS WITHIN. THE HOLY GRAIL IS US. THIS IS THE PROFOUND SPIRITUAL TRUTH THAT WE MUST AWAKEN TO, THAT WE ARE SPIRITUAL AND SACRED BEINGS EMBARKED LONG AGO ON OUR GREAT MYSTICAL PILGRIMAGE; OUR SPIRITUAL, MYSTICAL AND INDEED SACRED PILGRIMAGE TOWARDS ONENESS WITH THE ALL, WHICH IS WHAT WE CALL GOD. AND WHEN WE AWAKEN TO THAT ULTIMATE TRUTH ABOUT OURSELVES WE SHALL COME AT LAST UPON OUR OWN SPIRITUAL HEALING OF OURSELVES, OF EACH OTHER, OF OUR COMMUNITIES AND OF OUR MOTHER EARTH, OUR HOLY GAIA. THIS IS THE MYSTICAL PURPOSE OF OUR TIME NOW; THIS IS THE MEANING OF THE NEW AGE, THAT WE AT LAST AWAKEN TO OUR ETERNAL SPIRITUAL BEING.

An  ancient and wise man peers into the distance. He is us, and he is the  spiritual journey we all must take. Against a dark background, a  beautiful golden chalice, the Holy Grail itself is seen all but absorbed  into the wise old man’s face. The ancient man is our journey. The Grail  is our destiny.

Body  mind and spirit when ONE, is ourselves made whole, ourselves made  complete. The quest for the Grail is within; the Holy Grail is US. Body,  Mind and Spirit. We too easily and readily function in just the one  plane. We sometimes learn that body and mind are linked. We sometimes  manage to recognise that when linked, when seen as two aspects of  ourselves, connected and entangled, body and mind as ONE can raise us to  new and even unimaginable heights of achievement and awareness. It  takes effort. It takes concentration. It pays. Body, mind and spirit as  ONE, requires of us even greater effort, even greater depths and heights  of concentration. But those depths and those heights can be beyond  measure, if we can achieve them. Body and mind as ONE, is our first  sacred haven on our eternal quest to God, to ourselves, to everything.  Body and Mind and Spirit as ONE transcends itself. Body and Mind and  Spirit as one, is ONENESS, is us at last ONE with the ALL.

The  Quest of the Grail – the sacred and mystical and spiritual search for  the Holy Grail – has held us spellbound for centuries. And the great  spiritual truth within the Grail stories, is that the Grail is indeed  real. The Grail does indeed exist. Whether we know it or not, we are all  upon a spiritual and mystical pilgrimage to the sacred eternal  infinite. There may be times when we lose our way, when we lose sight of  the Quest, of the Holy Grail that is our ultimate purpose. But even so,  it is there, and indeed it is hidden in full sight.

They  say that we have to travel, that we have to embark upon the adventure  ‘out there’, to fully appreciate that place we have come from, to fully  appreciate Home. And in a sense that is the purpose of our spiritual and  scared pilgrimage, the purpose of our quest for meaning in our lives,  the purpose for our seeking mystical and sacred enlightenment, and  spiritual awakening. We mustbe pilgrims, we have to seek our destiny, our Holy Grail, ‘out there’.

Study  the Grail stories, know all the Quest stories, and then absorb them  deep into ourselves so that we can know them for what they truly are:  the stories of spiritual adventure, the slowly emerging awareness of our  own sacredness and the sacredness of ALL of Creation that we are ONE  with, and always had been ONE with. We are all deep-set in the greatest  of spiritual adventures. We are all holy and sacred pilgrims searching  for Truth and God and Holiness, and in actual fact forever searching for  ourselves, for we ourselves are Holy and sacred and luminescent with  deep-set mystical meaning.

The Quest for the Grail is our own story. And the Holy Grail itself is US.

Body mind and spirit when ONE,

Is ourselves made whole,

Ourselves made complete.

The quest for the Grail is within.

The Holy Grail is US.

Double images of a young girl holding something in her hand. Behind her are Egyptian hieroglyphics

WE HEAL BY KNOWING THAT SYMPTOMS ARE SYMBOLS TO BE UNDERSTOOD

Two young girls, perhaps identical twins, ponder what they hold in their hands. What they hold is a puzzle, and is at the same time a key to their own journeys and also a key to the purpose and destiny of our Mother Earth. Behind the girls are Egyptian hieroglyphics. These two, in their day, have been puzzles, and at the same time have been the key to our understanding of ancient Egypt, and indeed our understanding of the spiritual way of ancient Egypt.

To  heal ourselves and our nations, we must accept this: that our personal  and collective symptoms are symbols. Symbols to be interpreted.  Symptoms, be they medical, social or political, are symbols of  underlying and fundamental truths about ourselves. Symptoms that are  symbols are the keys to ourselves. Our task, as always, is to unravel  their meaning, to get into the truth that they are displaying for us.  This is why symbols are so important. What we read in a good novel may  not be true – Darcy and Lizzie Bennet, for example, never existed – but  that good novel will be deep-set with truths. As we follow the  adventures of the made-up Mr Darcy and Miss Elizabeth Bennet we learn  something that is universally true about relationships, betrayals,  vanities etc. So is it also with our dreams, or what we might sense in  our meditations. A good novel, and a seemingly significant dream will  require investigation, will require unravelling. We will always need to  go deep, and that process alone will be part of the voyage of discovery  that leads ultimately to ourselves, that leads ultimately to truths  about ourselves. Likewise, we are called upon to go deep into the  meaning of the symptoms – medical, social or political – that can  afflict us. What are they hiding? And more interestingly, what are they  saying? How we interpret dreams provides a useful insight to this key  point about our spiritual lives, about that mystical and sacred  pilgrimage that we are all on. So many books will suggest that there are  certain general images that will be the same for most people and that  with those books’ keys, the mystery behind any individual’s dreams can  be revealed. But that is not a useful approach. We really are all so  different, and the fundamental point here is that we really are in our  own stories. Understanding the true key to dreams will help us the  better to understand ourselves generally, and to in particular help us  to understand the underlying truth of our lives: that we are all  spiritual pilgrims, deep in our mystical and sacred quest for our true  selves and for our ultimate connection with the eternal infinite. To  unravel the meaning of our dreams we need to enter into the story of our  dreams, we need to talk or think our way into them. Our dreams are  stories, and our dreams are tightly woven into the stories of our own  lives. There is no quick and easy trick to this. It is a meditative  process, a slow voyage or pilgrimage into the dream’s story. This is  always the true and mystical way, the way to unravel the sacred  spirituality of our own lives, our own journeys through our lives. This  is true of ourselves and is true of our societies, our neighbourhoods,  and our nations. It is true of the world itself: the world story that we  are all part of.  Every personal symptom that we experience, and every  social and political symptom that we as citizens of our countries, and  citizens of our world, is telling us something about ourselves through  the deep-set power of symbols: symbols that are themselves deep-set into  the stories of our lives. The key to our lives, individual and  collectively, can never be a brutal process; that always leads to  further problems, further unwelcome stories. The key is to go deep into  the meaning of our lives, to unfold the truths that lie deep within the  stories of our lives. All good novels show us the way. We watch the  stories within novels and films unravel and unfold before our eyes, to  reveal the great truths and to bring into manifestation the healing  connections that can bring resolution to those stories. Symptoms are  symbols, and as symbols they are clues to the underlying story of our  lives. To achieve personal and collective wellness, we must seek beyond  the outer symptoms, and must enter into the story that they are products  of, and within the story we shall find the symbols of truths about  ourselves, about our societies and about our nations: indeed about the  world entire. This is the great spiritual meaning if our time: to  understand our individual and collective stories, our individual and  collective sacred pilgrimages that await our understanding.

To heal ourselves and our nations,

We must accept this: that our personal

And collective symptoms are symbols.

Symbols to be interpreted.

A long-haired figure in suit, collar and tie.

WE ARE ALL FAITHS, ALL RACES. AND WE ARE ALL RESPONSIBLE

A confident, perceptive woman gazes out from the darkness that is the world. The spiritual journey is upon her, and in the darkness she can see the path for herself and us all. Also, in the darkness, she is astute enough to recognise her own part in everything that happens.

The  threshold of our planet’s’ new time is close upon us. We edge slowly to  a full realisation of our ONENESS with everyone and everything. This is  a profound spiritual moment, this is the great waypoint in our long  mystical and spiritual and sacred quest towards the eternal infinite. We  can never be true Christians until we accept that we are also Muslims,  and Hindus and Buddhists too. We can never members of our own races in  true dignity, until we accept that we are members of all our Mother  Earth’s races. This ONENESS, which can seem so daunting for many, will  become the great spiritual liberation of our sacred souls, of our  individual, social, political, religious and ultimately spiritual souls.  To be ONE with ALL is to be truly free at last. And once we .live and  make manifest our ONENESS with ALL, we become totally aware of our  responsibility for ALL, just in the way that as we identify with our  individual selves we necessarily recognise our ultimate responsibility  for ourselves.  These are social and political imperatives that humanity  must embrace and make manifest. The very peace of our world, of our  Mother Earth’s nations, of our communities and of ourselves depends upon  it. Likewise, the very health of our Mother Earth, our Holy Gaia,  depends upon this ONENESS with ALL. If we are to survive and flourish  upon our Mother Earth, then we must indeed, make manifest our ONENESS.  But more than that, if we do so make manifest our ONENESS with ALL, then  shall the great spiritual liberation and spiritual awakening of  humanity begin. The very meaning of our existence, and the very meaning  of our existing NOW, is embedded in this ‘imminent’ spiritual awakening.  When we embrace the ALL, when we embrace true and universal  responsibility, then shall we humans transcend our pasts at last. Our  spiritual, mystical and sacred destiny has brought us slowly and  painfully to this moment, and our ultimate spiritual, mystical and  sacred destiny is only made manifest when we seize this moment. It will  be the moment when humanity at last heals, and heals our Mother earth,  and makes manifest ‘God’s’ love on Earth.

I am my faith; I am all faiths. I am

My country; I am all countries. But

In the end, I am me.

In the end, I am responsible.

A woman is backlit in space as she stares at our Planet Earth

TO HEAL ALL, EMBRACE OUR ONENESS AND REJOICE IN OUR UNIQUENESS

A young woman stares out enigmatically, but with the ageless spiritual wisdom that knows that we as individuals and we as people are ALL connected. That is the key to healing, and is the key to healing our precious Mother Earth, our Gaia. We see her as two separate but connected images, flanking our planet Earth.

The  matter of Planet Earth, the problems that beset Planet Earth are not  insuperable. They appear to be so, because we invariably see all our  problems as defined by doctrine-based religions and material-based  politics. We need to understand that we humans are not a jumble of mere  atoms and molecules that happens to have become sentient. We need to  understand that we humans are spiritual pilgrims, deep-set in a great  spiritual, mystical, and sacred quest for the eternal infinite. Our  consciousness is not the result of random molecular juggling. Our  consciousness is ultimately what we are. And this is because what  actually defines our universe is indeed consciousness.

God sleeps in the mineral,

Dreams in the vegetable,

Stirs in the animal,

And awakes in man.

This  is the truth of all existence, ALL that IS. So it is not the problems  of Planet Earth that need concern us; it is the problems of our blessed  Mother Earth, our Holy Gaia, that must concern us. We are in body, mind  and spirit, in the very essence of our souls: spiritual beings; and all  the issues and problems that beset us are spiritual issues, that will  only be properly resolved when dealt with in a holistic and spiritual  way. The problems that beset us are part of our sacred and mystical  pilgrimage, are indeed waypoints on our holy journey to ourselves, and  to the eternal infinite that is both the Beginning and the End – the  Alpha and the Omega – of us; and both the Beginning and the End – the  Alpha and the Omega – of ALL. We cannot disconnect ourselves from each  other, nor can we disconnect ourselves from our Mother Earth our Holy  Gaia. It is because we have so disconnected ourselves that we suffer  seemingly insurmountable problems. We see everything as a mechanism,  both in terms of our lives, our politics and even so often in terms of  our religions. But the mechanical way is necessarily a way of separate  individual parts that are brought together to achieve some purpose. And  now we come to the great paradox at the heart of our soul journeys. We  are both, in some sense, separate and unique, and at the same time we  are ONE. And it is only when experiencing the ONE, that we can truly  experience the fullness and the infinite eternity of our individual  selves. This can by some be called the chymical marriage. But truly we  know, understand and live this seeming paradox within our own earthly  marriages. Within the marriage that works well, we are ourselves and we  are ONE with our OTHER. This seeming paradox is the spiritual magic that  is our birthright, our destiny, and our duty towards each other and to  our Mother Earth.

To heal all nations, we must

Embrace their ONENESS.

To Be healed, all nations must

Rejoice in our uniqueness:

Our symbiotic entanglement.

Two images of the same woman stare at us. Between her images is our Earth as seen from space.

WE ARE AN INTERCONNECTED WHOLE: THE KEY TO HEALING OUR PLANET

A young woman stares out enigmatically, but with the ageless spiritual wisdom that knows that we as individuals and we as people are ALL connected. That is the key to healing, and is the key to healing our precious Mother Earth, our Gaia. We see her as two separate but connected images, flanking our planet Earth.

I  heal when I know I’m not a jumble of unconnected parts, but am an  interconnected whole. Likewise, the world heals when we embrace its  connectedness. The holistic approach is a healing process in all sorts  of ways; ways that can transcend its customary focus on our personal  physical and mental wellbeing. The holistic approach which instinctively  sees the parts that make up a whole as being intimately connected, will  need to be focussed on our social and political arenas if we are to  make our societies properly functional, and if we are to bring our  societies into a state of ‘good health’ where each and every one of us  is seen as a valuable and integral part of the whole. We are all  connected. We are all part of the Oneness that characterises a vibrant  and healthy society. That does not mean that we will thereby lose our  individuality. It means, that we must recognise that we can only achieve  true individuality for ourselves and each other when we recognise that  we are part of the whole and have responsibilities to everyone else who  makes up that whole with us. Only then can we bring about a healing of  the social and intellectual fragmentation of Western society, and indeed  of all societies, that has been so extraordinary in modern times, yet  also so damaging.

We  are at last recognising our interconnectedness. We recognise it with  regards to ourselves, in terms of how we at last realise that we must  see ourselves in a holistic light, in a connected light: the true  spiritual light. We are slowly beginning to see it in terms of us and  our planet, our Mother Earth, our Holy Gaia. We are at last recognising  that we are ONE with our Mother Earth, and that for us to flourish  physically and spiritually, we must become ONE with our Mother Earth.  That is the only true and sacred way for us, and for the redemption we  seek. We must also understand that we are interconnected with each other  in our social and even political lives. We must embrace the holistic  way with regards to our individual selves and also with regards to our  collective selves. The process is the same, the journey, the pilgrimage,  is a sacred and spiritual pilgrimage of universal holism. There is no  meaning and no true and spiritual purpose in our lives unless we  understand that holism requires us to be truly holistic: not just  inwardly holistic, but also holistic with regard to our environment and  our Mother Earth, and regards to each other socially and politically.  These are our great tests of our time.. We must be truly holistic with  regards to our holism. Holism means nothing unless it truly embraces  everything, truly embraces the ALL. This is the meaning of our Time.  This is our task for Now. We have reached a nodal point in the great  spiritual and mystical quest of all humanity. Our holism must become  holistic.

I heal when I know I’m not a

Jumble of unconnected parts, but

Am an interconnected whole.

The world heals when we

Embrace its connectedness.
