WE MUST LEARN TO LOVE WHAT WE STRUGGLE AGAINST. THAT IS THE KEY. THESIS, ANTITHESIS, SYNTHESIS: WHEN WE LEARN TO LOVE WHAT WE STRUGGLE AGAINST, WHEN THE ANTITHESIS DISSOLVES, AND THE SYNTHESIS IS GAINED. OF ALL THE GREAT SPIRITUAL AWAKENINGS FOR US ALL IS TO AWAKEN TO THE FACT THAT WE ARE INDEED SPIRITUAL BEINGS, PILGRIMS UPON A MYSTICAL AND SACRED PROGRESS THAT TRANSCENDS THIS LIFE HERE UPON OUR MOTHER EARTH, AND THAT EMBRACES ALL THE HEAVENS AND THE FARTHEST REACHES OF INFINITY AND ALL ETERNITY. WHEN THAT AWAKENING BECOMES ENGRAINED IN OUR DEEPEST BEING, SO MAY WE UNDERSTAND OUR LIVES AND SO MAY WE RAISE OUR HEADS, OUR SPIRITS TO THE GREAT SACRED AND SPIRITUAL PURPOSE OF OURSELVES AND OUR FELLOWS AND ALL THE CREATION. AND WITH THIS AWAKENING, SO SHALL COME OUR SPIRITUAL HEALING OF OURSELVES, OF EACH OTHER, OF OUR COMMUNITIES AND OF OUR MOTHER EARTH, OUR HOLY GAIA.
Our lives are invariably stricken with the storm clouds and violence of both our extraordinary and our ordinary lives. War and pestilence and famine test us as we make our way on our spiritual pilgrimage – our quest – for our spiritual awakening. But so too do the ordinary and mundane. If we love, then we are open to the most dreadful mental and spiritual agony. The truth is that Mother Earth is both our home and yet is not our true home. We incarnate here to progress spiritually, and to progress spiritually we must undergo trials and tribulations and tests. We see in this picture all our troubles writ vivid in the dark sky. We also see them reflected in the depths of our souls where indeed our spirit can be sorely hurt. Yet the waters in which we experience the reflections are calm. Such is the truth of the deepest depths of our souls. Every moment of anguish is absorbed and understood within the calm and perfect and sacred centre of ourselves. The calm waters of the lake know the storm-ridden tribulations and gain from them, but are forever unhurt by them. The calm waters of our souls are sacred and are ultimately healing. So too are the storm clouds and the terrifying bolts of lightning. All are sacred. All are to be embraced for our spiritual awakening and unfoldment: for the fulfilment of the journey that we are all destined to take.
Thesis, antithesis, synthesis. There is the given situation –thesis – which, from within its own contradictions can result in a reaction ina vaguely, sometimes violently, opposite direction -antithesis – which can ultimately result in a ‘blending’ of the two resulting in a restoredequilibrium – synthesis – which provides a new and for a time sustainable way forward – a new thesis. It is possible to see this happening with regards to our own soul journeys, if we take into account the ‘mechanism,’ of reincarnation – which may or may not be true, but which makes spiritual and practical sense to me. It might be said that between incarnations we are in a state of a newly forged ‘synthesis – forged from the trials, tribulations and experiences of all our previous incarnations.
Every moment of our lives is suffused with spiritual significance. Everything we do, everything we say, is part of our spiritualpilgrimage, our sacred and mystical journey to our true selves, to the stars and to the eternal infinite. Few days go by when there are no issues and problems. Few lives are lived in which there are not great moral and spiritual questions to be addressed. This physical plane, in a sense provided for us by our Mother Earth, our Holy Gaia, is our training ground, is our school. If there is indeed reincarnation, then each incarnation can be seen as a new term, a new time when we can put into practice what we have learnt, and at the same time be ‘confronted’ with new spiritual challenges. Our challenges can be extraordinarily painful, but when we understand that our Mother Earth is not our ultimate home, then perhaps we can see that all our pains and tribulations of any given incarnation, are to be welcomed with glad hearts, in the same way that we might welcome our final examinations after a course of study, knowing that the pain of the exams will actually lead us to new possibilities, and new accomplishments.
All of our lives are part of our spiritual and sacred pilgrimageto the infinite eternity, to God, to our true selves. Our spiritual unfoldmenttakes place here on our Mother earth, our Holy Gaia, and one of the things we have to learn is to love and care for our Mother Earth. We have an environment that we have despoiled. We need to make amends, not just for our own utilitarian sakes, but for the sake of our Mother Earth and all of Her flora and fauna. Perhaps our greatest test at this present time is to at last love our Mother Earth, as we would love our own human mothers. And perhaps our greatest test is to at last love each other. And perhaps the greatest spiritual test of all is for us to at last love ourselves.
When we at last love what tests us here on our Mother Earth,we will at last be humanity transcendent: ONE with each other, One with ourMother Earth, and ONE with ourselves. The tests are real, and we undergo them whether we like it or not. The spiritual ‘reward, is infinite and eternal and is to be at home at last.
Thesis, antithesis, synthesis:
When we learn to love
What we struggle against,
When the antithesis dissolves,
And the synthesis is gained.
