THE GREAT HYMN TO GOD IS OUR SPIRITUAL MISSION. THE GREAT HYMN TO GOD IS OUR SACRED DUTY AS WE AWAKEN TO OUR SPIRITUAL DESTINY, WHICH IS OUR EMBRACING ALL FAITHS AND RELIGIONS IN ONE GREAT SONG OF SACRED JOY. AND WITH THIS AWAKENING, SO SHALL COME OUR SPIRITUAL HEALING OF OURSELVES, OF EACH OTHER, OF OUR COMMUNITIES AND OF OUR MOTHER EARTH, OUR HOLY GAIA.
The matter of ONENESS needs to concern us. The ALL is ONE. This is the key to the universe and to the creative impulse that brought the universe into being. The creation, that extraordinary moment that brought matter and dimensionality and time into being, was born of the universal ONENESS of the ALL. If we are to truly know that creative source, we need to relate to that creative source in every way we can. It was a sacred moment of the ONE becoming many. If our lives are to be sacred, then we need to be capable of manifesting that ONENESS from out of the ‘manynesses’ that is ourselves. Our myriad religions are a case in point. These human-constructed religions that seek to get us into contact with the ONE, that do, if we like seek to make us as ONE with the ONE, seem to be perpetually determined to negate such a possibility. Indeed, they seem to live and breathe ‘manyness’ and separation in so much that they do. Exclusivity, which our human-constructed religions are so expert at fostering, runs entirely contrary to the whole living breathing spirit of a universe that is fashioned from out of the ONE.
ALL is ONE. It is only inclusivity that can reflect that reality, as it is only inclusivity that can bring about the sort of cosmic healing that can restore that reality. Love pervaded the universe’s creation, and we know in our hearts, in our very guts, that love within the universe, love for all and love between us all is an absolute and a necessary condition if we are to know ‘God with us’.
It might take us a long time to achieve one nation of all humanity upon our Planet Earth. Let us face it, it’s not the easiest task to bring a mere street of varied individuals into any sort of oneness. But when it comes to religions – notwithstanding the fact that our religions in the past have been more than happy to burn alive the adherents of rival religions, notwithstanding the fact that our religions have been happy to condone enslavement and inequality and racism and misogyny – when it actually comes to religions, we can achieve just one world religion in the blink of an eye. And to achieve this, to achieve this miracle of inclusivity, is extraordinarily simple. All we have to do, each of us from within our own religions and faiths, is to kept to our religions and faiths, but at the same time to not only accept and respect all other religions and faiths, but to also rejoice in all those other religions and faiths. REJOICE IN THEM. That is ONENESS, that is bringing sacredness into our world and into the lives of all our world’s peoples. And if we do it, something wonderful can happen. Richard Dell’s Insight 11 in his STARS IN OUR SOULS explains that we all, from within our own religions and faiths, sound a pure note to God. But all of us together, rejoicing in all our ways, will then sound a hymn.
THE GREAT HYMN TO GOD
There are many paths to God. So there is just one path to God. All the ways in communion, one with all others – and only when in communion, one with all others: sound humanity’s great hymn to God.
The paths to God are many.
And the number of paths to God is known.
For there are as many paths as there are us.
For each one of us alone, there is our one path:
Though that path can change as we change.
To seek God, we seek the path.
The path we seek is true when it is true to us,
And when it is true to us all.
***
So many paths:
The quiet paths;
The reflective paths;
The rhythmic paths of ritual;
The unadorned paths of the ascetics;
The ecstatic paths;
The wild paths of the shamans:
A billion people, a billion paths.
Seven billion paths!
Together they are a glorious fabric of paths.
Together, they are a chord of paths.
Each one of us, each on our own path,
Sounds a pure note of aspiration and endeavour and hope:
A single pure note, calling unto the heavens to God.
All of us together:
Sound a hymn.
Humanity’s great hymn to the stars.
