RESET? RESULT? OR REMORSE? SUCH ARE THE PROFOUND SPIRITUAL CHOICES THAT AWAIT US AT THIS TIME. SUCH IS THE IMPERATIVE OF OUR TIME, THAT IS ETERNALLY ENTANGLED WITH THE SPIRITUAL AND SACRED MEANING OF OUR VERY EXISTENCE. SUCH IS OUR CHANCE NOW TOP EMBRACE OUR AWAKENING. AND WITH THAT AWAKENING, SHALL COME AT LAST OUR SPIRITUAL HEALING OF OURSELVES, OF EACH OTHER, OF OUR COMMUNITIES AND OF OUR MOTHER EARTH, OUR HOLY GAIA.
We have known for too long that we have been besmirching and despoiling our planet, our Earth our environment. We no longer breathe clean air, we no longer share our planet in harmony with our planet’s natural flora and fauna. Species are on the brink of extinction. Wildness and its bounty is in retreat almost everywhere. Yes, I repeat: Wildness and its BOUNTY. Those few remaining pockets of our world, where we have not encroached and manipulated and so often despoiled, are not just pockets of land and sea for which we have no transactional interest. They are part of the living breathing Earth, they are part of the rhythmic cycles of our Earth. If we are to prosper and grow spiritually, then we need to be in touch with and grounded in a living breathing planet. We will always need wildnesses in ourselves if we are to be free of neuroses. Likewise, we need to be linked in with the wildernesses of our planet if we are to heal, spiritually grow, and achieve any sort of transformational awakening both for our planet and for ourselves. This is our chance to reset. This is our chance to at last accept that the state of this beautiful planet that is our only home is a reflection of the inner state of ourselves. We are entirely entangled with the wellbeing and health of our Planet Earth. Imagine meeting visitors from another world and having to show them around. Imagine the shame. Imagine too how we would feel if our visitors from afar knew that we had had a chance to make the changes and thereby change ourselves, and we had not made us of that chance. Reset? Result? Or remorse?
CLEANING WATERS, CLEANING OURSELVES
It is not just the physical environment that must be redressed. It is the ethical as well.
The crystal streams of our mountains and hills,
Become the putrid outflows of our urban rivers.
The life-giving airs of our fields and woodlands,
Become the life-sapping vapours of our factory towns.
Thus, is the physical environment in which we live our lives.
Thus, is the physical environment we are required to heal.
Likewise too our ethical environment:
The environment of mind,
Which is the environment in which we live our lives:
And…
Is US.
