LIST OF THE INSIGHTS: SPIRITUAL, RELIGIOUS, MYSTICAL AND SACRED. INSIGHTS TO OPEN US ALL TO SPIRITUAL AWAKENING, SPIRITUAL DEVELOPMENT; AND ABOVE ALL TO THE TRUE MEANING OF OUR SELVES, OUR PURPOSE AND OUR SPIRITUAL DESTINIES.
1. THE SHAPE OF OUR BECOMING
We are born into a pattern of possibilities. A shape is within that pattern. It is the fluctuating, undulating shape of what we might be.
2. IN THE FOREVER MOMENT OF CREATION
The Moment of Creation was not and is not a Moment. The Creation is ongoing, and the Moment is Eternal. And we, and the entirety of Creation, are forever in its unfolding.
3. COMING OF AGE
Once, we were petitioners of God. Now, we become partners of God. That is the true meaning of our time.
4. DEEP MEANING
True art comes from deep within. True art can touch us, because we are that deep incarnate. Science also can touch us: when science embraces meaning.
5. DEATH-BED REDEMPTION, BIRTH-BED REPARATION
We can achieve redemption through a ‘deathbed conversion’. But through reincarnation, karmic rebalancing of our ‘sins’ must come.
6. THE ETERNITY OF MEMORY
Our past, and our people’s past, must always be with us. But to remember the past with resentment, anger and hatred, is to be forever bound to that past, and is to forever bind the future.
7. LORDS OF OUR OWN DANCE
We have little freewill when it comes to the world external to ourselves. It is in our inner world where freewill can reign. And it is the state of our inner world, while it cannot command, that can at least ‘colour’ that world which is without.
8. THE OUTWARD BREATH OF GOD
When faiths sweep all before them, it is not their scriptures that win souls. It is the Breath of God, folded within the undulating patterns of the time: awakening, proclaiming, manifesting the boundless, immeasurable seasons of the heavens.
9. MIND OVER MATTER
Undisciplined thoughts affect everything. Undisciplined bodies affect little. Even beyond the realms of this physical earth, our thoughts are not lost; our thoughts endure. Thus, are we accountable beyond imagining. Thus must we forever be mindful of our minds. It is only our minds that make sense of, and give meaning to, the entire universe of matter.
10. OUR EVER-CHANGING SELVES
Scriptures must be reinterpreted, because humanity’s consciousness evolves. As we evolve, so we enter new depths of understanding. With new depths of understanding, our scriptures must be known anew.
11. THE GREAT HYMN TO GOD
There are many paths to God. So there is just one path to God. All the ways in communion, one with all others – and only when in communion, one with all others: sound humanity’s great hymn to God.
12. NOT WHAT WE DO; BUT WHAT WE KNOW WE DO
Eating food is not a moral issue. How our eating affects others, who need to eat, is. Sex is not a moral issue. How we handle our relationships, is.
13. THE SECOND COMING’S NIGHT THIEVES
A question for ever haunts us. Would we recognise Christ at the Second Coming? But the Second Coming is now upon us. This is a Second Coming Christ who is not One; but a Christ who is Every One.
14. THE INVIOLABILITY OF THE LAW OF MIND
In all our dealings: personal, commercial, political; we can abide by the laws of our lands, and by the laws between nations. But even if we obey those laws, and yet operate dishonourably, dishonestly, and unethically, then we shall reap karmic consequences. Such has always been the message of the prophets.
15. CLEANING WATERS, CLEANING OURSELVES
It is not just the physical environment that must be redressed. It is the ethical as well.
16. I AM US
The fundamentalist notion that only one religion is true, reflects the notion that only one culture or nation or people have worth. It is a lingering manifestation of a complex that within its overt superiority, conceals a corrosive insecurity.
17. THE UNDULATING ONENESS OF ALL
We pulsate with our own rhythms, and with the rhythms of the stars, and with the rhythms of our Earth.
18. THE ONENESS OF HEALING
We must be holistic if we are to heal ourselves. We must be holistic if we are to heal our world. We must heal the fragmentation within ourselves. We must heal the fragmentation between ourselves.
19. DEEP
The physicist and the mystic delve deep. Each in their respective realms, each observing what is being observed, each affecting what is being observed. The physicist touches the very edge between matter and meaning. The mystic, already deep in meaning, drifts in and out of those edges, forever affecting what is felt. There can never be certainty.
20. ONE
Holism is the key to our health. Holism is the key to our society, to our culture, to our humanity. Holism is the key to our understanding: of our ONENESS with each other, with our planet, and with the Cosmos entire.
21. SPOILED
When we damage our environment, we damage ourselves.
22. THE RETURN OF THE KING; THE RETURN OF THE
CHRIST
The legends of the Kings who must return, and such beliefs as ‘the second coming of Christ’, are glimpses into the truth of the ever hidden, forever undulating stream of the deeper knowing: the stream that does return, in due time: to teach and touch with the next unfolding of the Truths that we might just be ready for.
23. THE WHAT AND THE WHY
Science determines what happens. The question of ‘why something happens’ is answered with another ‘what happens’. But the true ‘why’ is where meaning lies, where purpose and significance hides. The true ‘why’ is where God resides.
24. IN CONVERSATION
Prayer is talking to God. Meditation is finding and listening to God.
25. THE STORM
Those who go to war, and those who instigate war, even when ‘justified’, can incur karma in the process. They can also be shedding karmic debt as they undergo the trials and tribulations of war. And war itself? War is never the prime cause; it is always the karmic consequence of all that went before.
26. MADE NEW
Thesis, antithesis, synthesis: the key to growth, to our evolving, to our ascending. And the very reason for our continually descending into the plane of matter, into the plane of antithesis. For we must experience the dark, we must experience the struggle: in order to grow. It is a fundamental and elemental Law of the Universe. And the true and ultimate synthesis is achieved through the transformative power of love. When we have learnt to love, even welcome, that which we are struggling against, then the antithesis withdraws, and synthesis is attained.
27. THEE AND ME
Faith has defined our spiritual journey. Faith has defined our spiritual childhood. But now we seek knowledge. Now we grow, and grow-up. Now we emerge into spiritual adolescence. Now we must doubt, in order to become adult.
28. ENDLESSLY SEEKING
There is no one moment of finding God; no born-again-moment that precludes later born-again-moments. The journey is eternal. And only when it is eternal can it be infinite. And only when it is infinite can God be truly known.
29. WORLDS AND WORDS
The scientific revolution with the denial of any spiritual aspect to the physical universe, and with the triumph of the idea of the first cause, led to there being nothing left for religious people other than the literalness of their scriptures and the determination of their faith.
30. THE HEART OF LOVE
Love is the heart centre of the Cosmos, as it is the heart at the centre of ourselves.
31. CHURCHES ASUNDER
The splintering of the great religions and churches is a necessary process in weakening their exclusivity. One day, in their weakness they will embrace; and in their embrace again become strong.
32. AWARENESS, AWARE
We are aware, and self-aware; or we are nothing. These times of global connection, and thereby global awareness, are the key to our awareness of each other. And our awareness of each other is the key to our Oneness with each other. And that, in the end, is the key to our Oneness with God.
33. FASTER, BIGGER, BETTER
Everything faster, everything bigger; nothing necessarily better.
34. GIVE AND TAKE
When we take, we close our souls. When we give, we open our souls.
35. THE QUEST
The spiritual journey is an ageless Quest. But the Quest can only be won when the Quest turns in on itself, when our desire to win the Quest is lost, when we lose that desire, except to seek to win the Quest for others.
36. GODS OF BECOMING
Faiths, such as Buddhism and Christianity and Islam, released us from our fear of the ancient Gods of power and indifference. Yet still we make those newer faiths vehicles of fear.
37. REJOICING IN OUR PATHS
In these new times, there is recognition of the validity of a multitude of roads to God. This means diversity and divergence. But in the mutual recognition of, and rejoicing in, these paths, there is convergence and unity.
38. THE ANCIENTS SPOKE
In spite of the world’s great teachings, the followers of those teachings have too often taught exclusivity, and even hatred and condemnation towards all other teachings. That is changing, but still too slowly.
39. OUR BECOMINGS
New ages, new times have no meaning, unless we can create meaning in ourselves. New ages and new times might occur ‘beyond’ us; but their true significance is only brought to fruition from within us.
40. ONE
When we achieve holism in our lives, we begin to connect with the universal, multi-dimensional holistic oneness of the Cosmos.
41. THE HYMN OF THE PATHS
The meaning of our new times is ‘harmony’. Our religions, whenever they are discordant, cut us off from God. Whereas, our rejoicing in all our different ways to God, creates a perfect harmony – a hymn – that facilitates the ascent of humanity to glorious heights, and facilitates the reaching down of Spirit to humanity.
42. I AM ME
The danger with our new times, is that responsibility is taken for ourselves, but if we are not careful, we can consider ourselves as only answerable to ourselves.
